This is a 1/6 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Yamaha Motocross YZ250. It was originally released in 1976, and it is again available for motocross modeling enthusiasts. The model kit is a replica of Yamaha’s works machine that won the 250cc class in the Motocross World Championship in 1973. It was equipped with a 246cc 2-stroke, single-cylinder engine capable of 32.5ps mounted in a double cradle frame and featured aluminum wheel rims as well as an aluminum fuel tank to result in a lightweight design. The following year the bike incorporated a mono-cross (Flying Suspension) rear suspension to greatly increase its handling and stability on the track. [Model Specifications] ●This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Yamaha YZ250, a commercially available motocrosser released in 1974. Overall length after completion is 342mm. ●The front forks are made of brass pipes with a chrome-plated finish. They are both beautifully finished and strong and have a built-in coil spring for operation. ●The damper boots, seat and grips are made of soft resin with a textured feel. ●Various wires and pipes can be routed and installed just like on the actual vehicle. ●The tank, seat and side covers can be removed to observe the rear cushion unit inside the frame. ●An air-cooled two-stroke engine with cooling fins that are expressed in a three-dimensional manner. ●The side stand is movable via a spring. ●A maintenance stand made of metal parts is included. ●The Mono-cross suspension, which reproduces the exact structure of the actual vehicle, operates using a coil spring. ●The tires mounted on the delicately textured wire spoke wheels are made of realistic hollow rubber.
